Frequently asked questions
Where is the meeting point for the start and end of the course?
Group courses and private lessons start and end at our meeting point, directly opposite the Schönleitenbahn. For private courses, other meeting points in Vorderglemm/Schönleiten mountain station/Kohlmais valley station/Bernkogel mountain station can also be arranged. However, this must be explicitly requested upon no later than 3:00 PM on the previous day.
Can I get an instructor at any time?
If you plan to attend a ski course, please book it online as soon as possible. You will receive an early bird discount in the pre-season and be guaranteed a spot if you book early enough. If our quotas are exhausted, unfortunately, we will no longer have instructors available.
Who needs a lift pass?
On the first day of our beginner courses, adults and children do not need a lift pass. For the first turns on skis, the magic carpet in Vorderglemm can be used without a lift fee. For additional course days, it is important to check with the ski instructors in advance to determine if and when a lift pass is required.
Do the booked ski course days need to be consecutive?
Yes, for a group course, it makes sense to complete the days consecutively. If this is not possible for special reasons, please consult with the ski school office.
Is the equipment included in the course?
Equipment is only included in the “Heugis Helden” course. For group courses, we offer package deals combining ski school and rental.
Please also note our family offer: If both parents rent complete equipment from us, children up to 10 years old are included for free!
In which languages are the courses offered?
Our ski school offers courses in English, German, and Dutch. When assigning ski instructors, language is considered an important criterion. However, a 100% guarantee for the desired language cannot be given.
At what age can children start attending ski school?
We welcome children from the age of 3. It is very important that the children are potty-trained. Heugi’s Heroes is the right course for 3 and 4-year-olds. For older kids, we recommend the kids group course.
Can our children be in the same group?
We always group children according to their skill level. We assess all children before grouping them. If you specifically want your children to be in the same group, please let us know before the grouping process. Please note that they will be placed in the group of the weaker level.
How does lunchtime supervision work? Where does it take place?
Lunchtime supervision can be booked and paid for directly with the ski instructor on site. Please give the ski instructor EUR 15 in cash in the morning. Lunch will be taken on the mountain in a hut, adapted to the group level and availability. If your child needs gluten-free or vegetarian food, please inform the ski instructor in the morning.

Which course is right for my children?
The choice of course for your child depends on the age of the child. For kids between 3 and 4 years old, we offer the “Heugis Helden” course with 2 hours of instruction per day. For older children, we have the children’s group course as a full-day course. Private lessons are another option if you prefer more individualized attention for your child.
Which course is right for me?
The choice of the right course depends entirely on your skills. For ski beginners, we offer a 3-day beginner course that starts on Sunday. Advanced skiers can choose between two variants of the 3-day advanced course.
Morning course: For intermediate skiers who want to improve their skills on blue slopes. Afternoon course: For experienced skiers who want to challenge themselves on red and black slopes. If you prefer individual attention or the courses don’t fit into your schedule, you can also opt for a private lesson.
This way, you can be flexible and receive personal instruction.
Where can I store my skis overnight? How can I book a locker?
In addition to rental, you can book a ski depot with us for an additional charge and store your skis directly at the Schönleitenbahn. You can find the booking options in the ski rental booking section.
Rental – when can I pick up and return my equipment ?
The rental equipment can be picked up from us the day before from 2:00 PM. On the day of rental, our shop is open for you from 8:30 AM.
When returning the equipment, it is possible to return the skis the following day until 10:00 AM.
The opening hours of our ski rental vary during the winter season. During the high season from December 20th to March 15th, we are open until 6:00 PM. In the low season, we are open until 5:00 PM.
What happens if my skis go missing?
If your skis go missing, the deductible of EUR 190.00 for the Comfort class, EUR 350.00 for the Sport class, and EUR 600.00 for the Superior class will be charged. To avoid this, you can opt for a protection fee for the skis at the time of rental. This can be booked for a fee and amounts to EUR 7,- for 1 day, EUR 14,- for 2 days, and EUR 20,- for 3 or more days. This insures the skis against theft! In case of loss, a police report for loss or theft must be presented.
Rental – Can I exchange equipment if the shoes don’t fit?
If the shoes are uncomfortable, just drop by our shop and try on another pair. Please remember to bring your skis, as they may need to be readjusted. If you want to test another ski, that’s no problem either! Feel free to speak to us directly in the shop – our rental professionals will be happy to assist you.
Group course – When, what, where?
Our group courses always start on Sundays, meeting at 09:30 AM at the practice area directly opposite the Schönleitenbahn. After the groups are divided, the entire ski area is explored. At 3:15 PM, the groups return from the ski day, and the children can be picked up at the same place. The week concludes with an exciting race and prize distribution on Thursday.
It is also possible to join the children’s courses on Monday, but after that, there is no further opportunity to join the group courses.
What are the cancellation policies?
All ski school courses and rental equipment can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the start of the course. After that, course or rental costs will no longer be refunded.
In the event of an accident or illness, we will refund payments already made and not used upon presentation of a medical certificate.
Please note that you can only claim refunds for lift tickets at the mountain cable car ticket office upon presentation of a medical certificate.
